Hello KGIS Maps!

Today we're introducing KGIS Maps, which is scheduled to replace the 12-year-old KNOXnetWhere as our primary mapping environment on October 1, 2012.

KGIS Maps provides some new features not available in our old site, along with access to more current, up-to-date information. It should also be more browser friendly!

But the site is not entirely finished; we'll continue to tweak the design over the next several months as we obtain feedback from you, our diverse audience of map users. (click here for more details about the site). You can let us know what you think by sending an email to kgis@kgis.org, or call us at 215-2641.

Goodbye KGIS Lite...Hello KGIS Maps!

We're getting close to replacing the KGIS Lite family of web applications with the new! KGIS Maps, which has been updated to be cross-browser friendly, and more accessible to mobile KGIS Maps...Quick Access to Knoxville and Knox County Tennessee Geographic Informationdevices. In the Fall of 2012, this new KGIS Maps will also replace KGIS' general public KNOXnetWhere application. In the meanwhile, we encourage City, County and KUB departments to begin using this KGIS Maps app and let us know what we need to do to improve and/or make it more responsive. For more information about KGIS Maps, and KGIS' web activities, visit the newly created KGIS Web Activities page (still under construction, but located under the Project tab on this site's blue command bar).
