KGIS issues RFQ for Aerial, LiDAR and Topographic Update

On behalf of KGIS, the Purchasing Division of Knox County TN has posted a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for the capture, processing, and / or update of digital aerial orthophotography, LiDAR, hydrography, breaklines, spot elevations and contours for all of Knox County and optionally the KUB extended service area. 3rd Q Policy Board Meeting Canceled

Originally scheduled for Aug 21 2015

The 3rd Quarter KGIS Policy Board Meeting, which had been scheduled for Aug. 21st, 2015, has been canceled. [The Policy Board has a policy of canceling those quarterly meetings when there are no actions to be taken.]  The next regularly scheduled meeting of the Board is set for Friday, November 20th , 2015 at 1:30 p.m.

ESRI Software Upgrade to be Re-Scheduled

from ArcGIS Web Server v10.0 to v10.2

The planned ArcGIS Server upgrade for this upcoming weekend (March 28-29, 2015) has been canceled to allow for further testing and adjustments to existing code.

KGIS staff have recently identified a mission-critical application that is using web services hosted on KGIS.ORG, but which has not been fully tested.  Therefore, it is important that the upgrade task be delayed in order to assess the impact.  A new revised upgrade schedule will be released later (and posted onto this site.) Presentation about the Landbase Program

In conjunction with Keith's proposed FY 2015 Budget, he also presented the Coordinating Committee with an overview of the Landbase / Aerial Photography program and its current status. He highlighted how the Policy Board had already approved of acting on several of the recommendations that came out of the User Needs Analysis; and he also made recommendations regarding the long-range and next steps towards maintaining an up-to-date suite of landbase products.
