Aerials now reflect Spring 2016 flight

KGIS Maps and other web-applications Updated

The Aerial map theme has been updated in KGIS Maps, and in other web-based sites such as City Survey Control, to reflect the recently flown 2016 ortho-photography (acquired from The Atlantic Group LLC). 

Previously, the Aerial theme had reflected spring 2014 vintage photography. To gain access to that original 2014 data, users can click on the 2014 Aerial theme located under the Historical Aerialscategory of Map themes (see image). READ MORE....

Election Commission approves Precinct Changes for Upcoming Elections

New precincts created in Farragut and Ball Camp areas

Several precinct boundary changes and new voting location changes have been announced by the Knox County Election Commission. Click HERE for the more information, including maps courtesy WBIR. Preliminary 2016 Aerial Theme added to KGIS Maps

Located under the Historical Aerials group

A new 2016 Aerial (Preliminary) map theme has been added to KGIS Maps. Since these aerials are preliminary, by-products of the Spring 2016 Knox County Property Assessor project with EagleView - Pictometry , they don't quite meet the product standards of past KGIS aerial products. Therefore, instead of replacing the default Aerial Theme (which is still vintage 2014), the preliminary aerials are located under the Historical Aerials category of Map themes (see image). KGIS issues RFQ for Aerial, LiDAR and Topographic Update

 KGIS has updated all of the Printable PDF Maps on its website.  These new maps are simplified and easy to read.  They also contain clickable links to KGIS, Knoxville, Knox County, Knox County Schools, Farragut, and TN State Government websites.  For a more detailed view of a particular area on any given map, just click on the link to KGIS Maps below the map title!  Locate these free maps on the KGIS website by selecting Products>Hard Copy Maps>Ready Made PDF Maps, or Click HerePlease enjoy, and keep an eye out for new maps in the near future!

FEMA Flood Maps have been updated with modified symbology and labels

MPC has recommended some changes to the FEMA Flood zones map on the KGIS viewers. Many people, even city and county staff cannot readily interpret what they see when they turn on the FEMA layers. To view the FEMA Flood Maps on KGIS Maps click here.
