The Property Assessor's last-year final 2012 Tax Roll tables have been imported into KGIS's Oracle database for those ArcGIS users who may want to access those 31-Dec-2011 values.  These attributes

-----------------

are maintained on the Property Assessor's computerized assessment & mass appraisal (CAMA) system, and this data is provided to KGIS once a year for uploading into KGIS. Normally these values are loaded into the KGIS database after the Tax Roll has been finalized (sometime in August or September of each year). However, due to the entirely new format of data coming from the County's new CAMA (Manatron) system, is has taken KGIS a little longer than normal to get the data imported.

As a result of the new format, the table and column names have also been totally revamped, but they all have prefix of "CAD_CAMA2012*". There are now several more tables, and full "metadata" for those values is currently not available. But feel free to contact KGIS personnel (Chris Halcomb at 215-3906)  if you have trouble accessing these tables, or wish to learn further information about their contents.

But note that the values reflect the status of the properties as of Dec. 31, 2011, and do not reflect the new 2013 appraised values that have just been sent out to County property owners by the Assessor's Office.

ArcGIS users who access the CAD_Master_KNO table in the KGIS database should also know that there are five columns in that table which are updated annually FROM these newly imported CAMA tables. KGIS has updated those five columns with these 2012 values.  The five columns in the CAD_Master_KNO table are:

  • LANDUSE
  • TAX_CLASS
  • APPRAISED_LAND
  • APPRAISED_BLDG
  • ASSESSED_TOTAL
We have found that the LANDUSE codes in particular have changed dramatically from previous values. Therefore, any ArcMap documents that are pointing to that column in particular will have some issues, and will need to be reworked once the data is imported over the next two weeks.
