2010 Census data posted to KGIS geodatabase

The 2010 US Census P.L. 94-171 Redistricting data is now available in the KGIS SDE geodatabase. Eight maps layers were derived from the data released on March 16, 2011. Each layer contains several fields pertaining to population by race and ethnicity as well as basic housing unit occupancy tabulations.   Detailed information about the redistricting data can be found the Census Bureau’s “Strength in Numbers” document (10MB PDF file). Future releases of 2010 Census data will include more detailed information such as population by age ranges, household income, and housing characteristics.   For more information, contact the Alex Zendel or Tim Kuhn at the Metropolitan Planning Commission, 215-2500.
